Err, make that HALF a frame... like I wrote earlier, the second half (in the way of another matching band) would come down the road. Kind of fun to have another installment waiting out there... hehe.  Evil

The bad part is that there probably aren't any jewelers in the area that have a pink diamond band for you to just see if it works or not.

...and that is beyond true, GG.

So T and OMC, we'll keep this one on the back burner until we get the photo of an RR1909 with LI'L BLOOO.  I hate to admit, but robust will be a necessary trait.  I'm pretty hard on day to day wear - Just ask David about my bracelets!  Roll Eyes

No one is harder on jewelry than I am. I wear a five-stone, shared-prong band 24/7 without problems (except for the rubbing against my ER because THE BAND IS NOT CURVED).  Wink

david  When Li'l BLOOO is back in your hands, could you add a second picture to the set, please?

RR1909, any color, looking for fit against the halo.

also R1599, which, altho it doesn't wrap around the halo, will give me an idea of an abbreviated set of diamonds to frame Li'L BLOOO, al la Trinkette.

Thanks you, sir! Thanx

Thanks, David!

Yes, that does help; and I think we need to look a Trink's idea.  A partial band that doesn't extend beyond the half moons and is as wide a band at the half moons and beyond as Li'L BLOOO's band would look better, I think.

Ah2bqat,

After seeing R1909 against Lil' Blooo, I am inclined to recommend having David make a custom wrap that Lil' Blooo would drop down into that had colorless rounds framing only the three stone area of Lil' Blooo on both sides.  I would make this wrap the same width or up to 1 1/2 as wide as her pink tutu, not set as the micro halo tutu, but set like the newer Daussi halo style in R3062, i.e., minimum platinum of the wrap showing where the round colorless diamonds are set.  Using a wrap instead of a single band will balance the look.

The wrap is similar to Trinkette's idea, but I like for ERs and bands to fit perfectly together at every moment of wearing; when I see that kind of fit, I think  "quality".  Lil' Blooo is a special fairy princess; I shudder at the thought a a band haphazardly spinning around next to her.

Contoured plain struck me too when I saw this. Wrap is a good idea if you still want a lot of bling. Very interesting project. I do think that whatever you do, it must be "just right."

Sometimes a ring is just perfect on its own and does not need a band to go with it.  Li'l bloo is that type of ring.  My original wedding ring was an "all in one" engagement/wedding ring and so is my new one.   I do agree with Trinkette...whatever you decide will be just right.

This is difficult! I actually rather like the curved band, but I would like to see her with a plain plat band too. I wonder, do you actually need one with diamonds and one without, so you can accommodate whatever mood she's in each day?

If you're going custom and having a band made to fit her curves, maybe it wouldn't cost a lot more to have a second plain one cast at the same time? Then you'd have options.

eta I wonder how she'd look with a straight shared prong band? Just a very tiny one.

Hm. I think straight is asking for trouble. Because of the halo, Li'l BLOOO pushes the other ring away, and you are looking at scratches and just general feeling of "this looks uncomfortable". Just my ¢¢

How about something like this ? It`s a ring enhancer but it would have to be custom made to fit your particular ring. Your ER slots inbetween the 2 bands of the enhancer. It could be plain or diamond or even one band plain and one band diamond I suppose.

Jen says:  "I wonder, do you actually need one with diamonds and one without, so you can accommodate whatever mood she's in each day?"

Ok--this cracked me up. If you can't decide on one--buy two. Simple. Works for me!!!! LOL! I like the way you think Jen.

Don't tell me I'm the only one here who considered this option! Grin

Awestruck, I love that wrap, I think something like that could work really well with lil blooo, but maybe a bit simpler?

OMC, I see what you mean about the straight band, it would get scratched really fast. My engagement ring is an emerald cut, and I have a straight band, but the setting is just high enough that it sort of overlaps the band so there's no gap. The band has one small diamond where the basket of the e-ring would otherwise rub on the metal and it works ok, but they do spin in cold weather. I was thinking along these lines, but that might not work with lil blooo.

Ok, I think I'd look into custom curved plain metal (with a custom curved diamond band for options and to amuse DJM. angel)

Me, too. But I like the width of the band. Just a smidge narrorwer but I like a plain band. Lil bloo is a showcase ring and we don't want her upstaged.

After trying on about 100 rings, that's what I ended up doing. Everything else competed with the ER in my case.

I have a very narrow plain platinum band next to my 3-stone EC ER.  As others have said, anything else just took away from the simple beauty of the ER.  Even though I still like the etoile idea, a simple plain band is going to work great for Li'l Bloo.

I usually don't agree with anything WM says Erm..I think WM is right on here. A smaller contoured band with high polish would look awesome.

oh my!  My poor head is spinning!  hypnodisk  There are so many good ideas floating here that I'm going to have to write them out and start stacking in similar piles for major themes and variations.

Thank you so much for all your inputs!  This is fantastic!  grouphugg

Hi, all!  hello

Thought I'd give the last status update until David is ready to release pre-mail pictures.

And, I must add, that could be 4-6 months down the road.  Altho my DH is starting to feel better, he's still quite iffy, and we won't be setting any dates or finalizing anything beyond this ring for several months, at best.  So, I've told David that I don't mind if he and the designer don't start work until after Mother's day.

Still, I want you to know how much I appreciate all your suggestions, comments, general participation, even just reading the thread.  It's because of your interest and community spirit that BLOOO will have a truly lovely BFF, and eventually a second BFF.  (Yes, T, I'm going for a matched set.  ura1 After all, they will be really, really small; so two will show better, right?!).  Grin

My special thanks to OMC, who was so kind as to make the final sketch, and has been gently leading me to define a set of rings as delicate, feminine, and special as BLOOO, herself.  Flowers2

This will be a platinum ring with a band to match BLOOO's in style, not width.  The stones here run from 90% to 110% of the size of the pinks(at first guestimation).  They will be prong set to minimize the visible metal, and dance on tiara reminiscent of BLOOO's own, but not quite.  That's all I'm gonna say  Evil until we can show you the real deal.

I love the curved band look you've chosen.  Even better is one on each side.  I think the look will really compliment  " BLOOO ".  I have a thing about 3's.  Three stones, three bands, it just seems balanced to me.  Best of luck to you with your project and of course I look forward to seeing the finished product.  Your ring is a beautiful work of art.

Yes! That sits very nicely with Lil blooo. I think this is going to be the perfect partner for her.

I think I was wrong about plain plat - the stones are a nice frame to Bloo.
