Mikla that is so pretty and classy looking.  Did you ever post pics of your wedding?  We even made DJM do that.  You should see the sunglasses.......... Cool Grin

Jewellk!  I knew there had to be more people with this problem than just me!  I really love that dress and I agree with Annie, it looked better on you than the model.  I just love lace dresses.  Did you see Jenna Bush's gown from her recent wedding?  Oh it was just stunning.

Annie, how have you turned out so sensible!?!?!  When I grow up, I want to be just like you!  Oh wait.  I'm older than you.  Considerably.   Okay.  There is just no hope for me then!   Grin  Alright, there has to be something.  What are you just not sensible about?  Are you a secret Star Wars fan or maybe you have a hidden collection of porcelain pigs..........you gotta throw me a crumb here!   Cheesy

OMG. I seriously thought I was the only one who did this. It has been my shamefull little secret until now that I still stop in the magazine aisle in the grocery store and drool over the gorgeous wedding dresses in the bridal magazines and scan the internet for the new bridal couture lines that come out in the spring and fall.

This is the dress I wore at our wedding in Mexico. I sold it and I have regretted it ever since. I still check from time to time to see if I might find it for sale again. I'd buy it in a heartbeat (for the right price of course). *sigh* I love this dress!

Love all of these!

Mindi, I remember how gorgeous your wedding pictures were!  I hope you get it back!

OK, here are two pictures of my own dress.  I am going to try and look for pictures of my favorite dream dress a little later:

That is lovely GL and you look fabulous in it!  Do you have a close up of the detailing on the bodice?

GL..beautiful...I could look at these all day long.  There is one by St. Pucchi that I used to love and they apparently aren't making it anymore.  I like the ones that look like a dress you would see in a portrait of royalty from 100's of years ago.

Thanks!!  I actually had to take pictures of my pictures, so it is hard to showthe details.  The dress was ivory and the embroidery and beading were silver, with very delicate silver rope that caried around to the back and tied in a small bow.  I really loved it and had a hard time taking it off.  And it doesn't look like I will have a daughter to wear it.  Ah well.

Here are pictures from Vogue that I just gasped over.  The gown for the wedding was HUGE, and then the designer cut the reception dress in half after midnight.  Amazing!

Lynne and Mikla, forgot to say I loved both of yours as well!

DJ, can we see the dress you have for your renewal?

WOW!!!!!!!!!  Look at that wedding dress!!!!  So much material and OOMPH!  (Very technical word there, I know.)  I don't think I could have let the designer cut the second one though - it was stunning!

This pic doesn't show my dress particularly well, but it does show my hair (MUCH longer then <LOL>) and veil.  My (late) MIL took this pic, and it's my absolute fave of any of my wedding pics.

Sometimes it is the candids that show the true spirit of the wedding.  Very nice Robin.

GL, your dress is gorgeous and I too love your bouquet!

What a beautiful photo Robin, I love those candid shots as well. I think my favorite picture from our wedding is a picture of mine and DH's feet!  Smiley

i just happened to find pics of my wedding dress as it appeared in brides magazine. i should also like to confess, that i bought 3 in total. the first one was pink, which i'll post in a minute. this one went with the christmas theme we ended up going with.......... and then i bought an ivory maggie sottero just in case i chickened out on this champagne and red one.

Thinking of going somewhere HOT to renew our vows..and want a simple dress, strapless that ties up in the back.  Don't want to pay alot, since it will be worn for less than an hour, and likely to get ruined in the ocean!  Wink Thinking a sheath style (NOT a mermaid style, that is soooo tight/clingy that it pushes everything up and creates that  "back fat" roll  ...any ideas as where I might find such a dress?

You can't go wrong with Maggie Sottero.  They've got a million styles and are very reasonably priced.  I found a sheath dress from them at the bridal shop for $600 about 4 years ago.  Satin, beaded, tie-up back, and chiffon.  Nice quality.

Kinda glad this thread was bumped - I'm a secret wedding dress addict too...and I love the gorgeous over the top gowns, although I can't see myself wearing any of them.  I confess to having a stash of wedding magazines, with no immediate wedding plans at all, I just love the gowns.

And so hard to find gowns with sleeves...not for any good reason, other than my own preferences..and I love the idea of a winter wedding.  Kate Hudson's wedding dress from years ago was stunning...although the faux fur is not my thing.

Wedding coats are great too, but like gowns with sleeves, harder to find pics of.

My dress had sleeves, but it was made from a sketch that DH drew  Grin  I didn't want him to see the dress, but he has a great eye for styling, so I wanted some input. He drew a rough sketch of the style of dress he thought I suit best and I went to look for something along those lines. Nothing existed, naturally, so I had it custom made. It was an empire line gown with  long sleeves

I'll see if I can dig out a pic, but we don't have many digital photos. My plan is to do a trash the dress photography session. My friend is a photographer and she's really keen to do it. We'll wait until a) I've lost the rest of the baby weight  Grin  and b) she dreams up the perfect location etc for the photos.
