Most of you probably don't know that I bought R2866 - a gorgeous restored Fancy Light Brownish Yellow OMC.  I really liked the large flashes of light, chunky cut, high crown and the antique color.  I was in the mood for a vintage piece, but done to my specifications.  Well, of course, I searched far and wide for an antique design that would suit me, and in the end, I emailed David about 20 pictures of rings to combine the many ideas I got from other sources.  Enter David and his designers.  David searched far and wide for colored melee diamonds that complemented the center stone until I was sure they were exactly right. The factory created a custom bezel to highlight the OMC, and created a rounded double-bezel that stayed true to the OMC's shape and vintage setting I had in mind.  It took us awhile to get all of the details right, but the result is nothing short of spectacular.  What can I say?  You don't want anyone else creating a custom ring for you.  Can these guys cook or what?

Thanks Mikla!
As always, a pleasure working together.

There's no question that custom jobs present unique challenges.
It's crucial to handle all the details.
I'm very proud of the results here....

As impressive in size as the ring is on top,the bottom is just as dainty.
Amazing how they did that.

It is beautiful and unique! The various colors look great together. I'd like to see a hand shot, too :-)

That's amazing, just amazing. What an awesome ring, Mikla. I love it.

I especially like the detail on the sides of the shank - the little yellow stones. I couldn't make it out in the video, are they rounds or pears? I'd love to see a close up of that detail when you get the ring please!

So beautiful, I really hope you enjoy it.

It is phenomenal!  I would love to see the 1+ ct L OMC that is loose on D's site put into that same setting but with a pink halo and pinks on the sides!  Mikla, you obviously did a fabulous job pulling pieces of rings together and D's guys did a fabulous job making them all work. LOVE IT!

Thanks, everyone, for your wonderful compliments.  I tortured David and the factory with this one but I think we're all happy with the outcome.  My only fear is that it will be too big, but I'm sure I'll find some way to live with that!   Grin

OMC, I'm a ring size 7 (right hand).  Geena, I tried really hard to find the right combination of colors so thank you for noticing!  Jen, the stones in the middle of the split shank are rounds set in a pear shape made out of green gold.  DJM, I was worried about the double bezel being overkill, but when they set the center one up a little higher than the other, it gave me the effect I was looking for.  GL, I'd be so flattered if David replicated this design in pink!  What a stunner that would be!

Remember - it's only too big or too gaudy if someone else is wearing it. Proof:

(and both those rings are huge!!!)

Isn't bigger supposed to be better?  Grin

Wow, Mikla, you are STILL on FIRE! What a HUGE (literally, hehe) project! Congratulations to you and David both... the craftsmanship of the piece looks superb. And, what an astonishing design.

Ahhhhhh, so many decisions to be made with a significant piece like this. Knowing you both, I can imagine (and can well see) the marvelous planning and care that was taken to ensure each precise detail was carried out to perfection. Fabulous project.

Hand shots are a must!

I keep coming back to look at this ring, it's amazing. Can't wait to see some handshots.

Love the green gold, that's a nice touch. Rounds in pearshape setting makes sense - I couldn't figure out the shape of the stone! Lovely, just lovely.

FANTASTIC!!!  It turned out absolutely stunning, Mikla!

My absolute favorite part are the little rounds set in the pears on the sides.  I love the detail.  You know you did something beautiful, unique, and bold when you have OMC calling dibs!  Wink

I can't wait to see hand shots!  Has this baby come home yet?

No, I don't have her yet, but thank you!  David is sending her for delivery tomorrow.  I will get hand shots, but I need DH's help for that.  Since we just found mold in our master bedroom and bathroom, I think that might get priority over pictures, for now.

Yes, I did, and it's truly the most beautiful ring that I own.  The workmanship is like nothing you've ever seen.   The cut on the OMC is absolutely gorgeous.  The green gold and colored diamonds are exquisite.  The finger coverage is second to none.  The platinum is so smooth and elegant.  It is simply perfection.  The only downside is that I can't get pictures right now because we are working on the second floor mold and leak problem, but I promise that I'll get my husband to do shots of this baby and my other acquisitions once our homeownership issues are resolved.  The adjuster is here right now so send us your good vibes!

Thanks - Mikla

vibes icon_sunny  Best of luck, Mikla.  I watched one of my neighbors go through that mess with mold.  I hope your problem takes much less time than theirs did to clear out.

We'll be waiting with baited breath to see those pictures.

Sending you good mold vibes, Mikla.

Um, that didn't come out right, did it? Good vibes for mold removal, maybe? Whatever, I hope you get the problem sorted out quickly and with minimum disruption.

I'm looking forward to seeing handshots!
