DH took me out for the day to celebrate the end of my tax law exams. We had a really lovely time and he bought this little ring for a keepsake of the day. It's made by a Glasgow silversmith whose work we love (although he usually does tableware LOL).

I haven't managed to capture the lovely purple colour, but it's really pretty and I'm loving how it looks with my eternity band. I wish I had another to stack on top..

I do love my ovals! Grin  This one is bigger than I'd usually go for, but it feels really nice on.

Thanks, GIAGirl (mind you, I don't know if I passed yet, just that it's over! Grin Please keep your fingers crossed for me - I'd consider jumping from a tall building if I had to re-sit that one!)

Thank you Titania and BR!

Annie, your faith in me is lovely, but I'll have to see the results before I'm totally relaxed! I was so bored by the whole course that my attention wandered somewhat even in the final exam. Plus, the man sat next to me began to sob after the first 15 minutes (which means he understood the questions quicker than I did) and didn't let up for the next 2 hours 45 minutes. It was a little distracting...

Wait--let me see if I got this right. The guy next to you was CRYING? Did you mean to say "sighing"? I'm sorry...but all I can think of is you sitting there looking at him with this expression:  Roll Eyes. NO WONDER YOUR MIND WAS WANDERING!  I just want to laugh my head off right now--too funny!!

Jen,

Your university paid that fellow to distract students.  Survival of the fittest!.  LOL!!  Congrats on finishing and what a lovely ring.  Amethyst is my daughter's birthstone and it is very special to me.  Sometime I will post a photo of my little 3 stone amethyst in rose gold-made in the 1800s.  So pretty.  Good on you!!

Yes, please Jen, tell us more! Was this lawyer actually crying in class over an exam? I know I shouldn't be sitting here laughing, but still...

Yes, we are dealing here with an adult male who was crying over his tax law paper. Fair enough, it wasn't the greatest three hours of my life either, but in common with 90% of the other candidates, I held it together and didn't actually snort out loud, mutter, cry, pray audibly (too late, my friend!) swing on my chair, pull out handfuls of my hair or (and this is my favourite) colour in the exam paper with a set of highlighter pens while humming a little tune.

Some of the candidates were in last chance saloon - you only get three goes at the paper, then you're out. They looked a little tense, some of them. I've never actually watched hives break out before. Two people were removed for having unauthorised material with them (the text book, in one case, hand written crib notes on his sleeve in the other). The whole room smelled of despair and fear.

I'm hoping that I've passed - don't much fancy going through that again!

I can't believe that 2 people actually tried to cheat!

I'm sure you passed with flying colors Smiley

LOL two people got caught trying to cheat - makes you wonder how many other people had tax statute highlights scribbled on their underpants or whatever! Grin

If I have passed, I should find out in the next few weeks. I'm quietly optimistic, but you can never tell!

I think, if you could put that much time and effort in, you'd be as well actually doing the study! It's amazing what some people will do.

Probably in the long run, the crying quietly in the corner option afforded a little more dignity! Grin

OMG, Mrs. M... it sounds like some sort of weird, twisted Twilight Testing Zone – where it all seems real, but not quite. Obviously, the stakes were high enough for some to crack. I'm so glad it is OVER for you.  And, I KNOW you WON'T be going BACK!  (Love the ring BTW!)
