Yes!  Please, sir, could we have some more?

And what makes it an 'original' radiant?  Why not extra crispy?

The cut is marketed by the Original Radiant Cut Company, founded by the inventor of this cut, Henry Grossbard.  Google the name.

I would love to see more pictures and even a video of this!  I think the cut is very unique and they definitely stand out from generic radiant cuts.

I believe that the late Mr. Grossbard was a friend of David's.

Mr. Grossbard's Radiant Cut is actually one of those patented "signature cuts" that has become so popular that the name, radiant cut, has morphed in to a generic term for almost any cut cornered rectangular shape that is cut to maximize brilliance and fire. Kind of like the fancy signature, Royal Asscher Cut, the "Original Radiant Cut" has its own set of very specific parameters (proportions shapes and facets) that must be met in order to receive the moniker.

The Trilliant Cut was another trademarked signature cut. It is now known as the generic term for triangular brilliant cuts (also morphed into trillion, trillian).

David, does this radiant come with additional paperwork from Radiant Cut Diamond Company?

BTW, David has a way of slipping some pretty interesting cuts into his stock, and oftentimes they are not identified by any more than the dry GIA description they receive. I've seen Barion-esque looking beauties for sure...

I lifted David's photo from the Golden Beauties thread... although GIA describes it simply as "Cushion Brilliant," this looks an awful lot like a Barion Square Cushion Cut to me. dontknow

Hi All!
Yes, I was well acquainted with Mr Henry Grossbard - his untimely passing was a terrible shock.
His son Stan and I are contemporaries- and very good friends.
The Original Radiant Cut does have certain parameters- interestingly enough, things like depth percentage are measured differently than GIA does- but certain of the parameters are not published.4
We do have a few more beauties to show you guys today.
All, including the 1.67ct have both GIA reports, and Original Radiant paperwork.
They also have laser inscriptions

What a beautiful diamond. I don't think white radiants get the kudos they deserve sometimes. A good one like this is a glorious thing!
