If it's "happy", keep it. Nice patterns, girdle outline and size. And reasonable price.

I like this diamond. Very sweet.  It is more than 6mm all around (kind of a size benchmark for me), seems clear, and the chunky facets are very appealing. Love the quiet, old-fashioned look. I'll bet it is stunningly bright. *SIGH* ANOTHER one that goes in Trinkette's ever-growing pile labled, "If I had the money, I'd purchase THIS..."

while i am not a huge cushion fan, i like the facet pattern on this one. looks like a keeper. the F color makes it especially desirable. good choice D!

Very nice!  I like the over all look of it.  I particularly love the shape and size of the culet with the patterning.

Yes, I like this one too.

It's a nice shape, the cut is beautiful, I love the facet patterns. Nice and white (although a warmer cushion is usually my preference, this one looks very crisp).

As OMC says, if it's happy, keep it!

I love the looks of this one...  The facets remind me of an antique stone - nice size too. Smiley

How about we switch gears....
This stone is kind of "opposite"...in terms of color ( although it's near impossible to see any tint for a K color due to the fluorescence)...and in terms of facet pattern

I like both but am partial to the one that looks like an OEC. However, the price on #2 is pretty sweet. Some half moon sapphire side stones would be nice on #2 and be a reasonably priced ring. #1 is pricey but i know it's the color.

Does #1 have a high crown. I'm a sucker for a high crown and small table on the "old fashioned" colorless diamonds.

I admit I am so not a fan of the 2nd one.  It has those visible rays that I just don't care for.  I'd have to see it in motion but just based on the pic alone it is nothing special to me at all.

It's good to hear all opinions clgwli!
I did shoot a video of the K/Si2
You're ring that it needs to be seen in motion to be appreciated.
The K/Si2 is more of a "crushed ice " look, while the F color is more of a "Chunk Facets" type of look.

Does #1 have a high crown. I'm a sucker for a high crown and small table on the "old fashioned" colorless diamonds.

Yes it does.
Smaller tables generally require a higher crown. The table on the F/VS is 56%- small for a modern cushion. The steeper angles created by the higher crown contribute to that chunky look.

I love everything about the first stone. I don't normally go for cushions but that one is a beauty. I also like them to be more squarish so that appeals to me too. The second stone doesn't do anything for me....

I like both.

Hey David, just a heads up, the written description for the second stone must be for a different one.

This is such a cool thread.
I've always felt that diamonds can have a strong personality.
Seeing how some people are drawn to a look that other really don;t like is actually a good thing.
It shows us how the personality is an aspect that is very important- while there's not really a "C" that covers it.

The other aspect I love is how any strong personality will draw strong reactions.
I was never a "middle of the road" kind of guy, so that suits me just fine.

BTW- my own personal taste includes both these looks.

BTW- here's the other stone that was accidentally referred to- we bought both the K/SI2, and this stone at the same time, from the same cutter

Oh, now I really love the first one. I love that high crown, chunky look. You know I have an oec and I adore that look.

Not as wild about the last one but I think it suits DBL. I think the right setting would make a difference. And you know how to do that.

I do like the last one for a rectangular stone.  I am not as fond of rectangles (more of a square shape lover) but I like the color and the over all look.
