That really does help visualize it still--we know where the wow factor is, so no worries.  This time her reply was "lol"--an enunciated luhl.  She thanks you for the effort and frustration of working with GIMP!

Congratulations and it will be exciting to see what you and your beloved blonde finally choose. I love the radiant cut diamonds and I have a light yellow square radiant set into a halo. Radiants have such a lot of sparkle. Enjoy the process and I can`t wait to see the finished product.

Well I am glad that it did help some.  I got very frustrated with the program by the end.  So I am sorry I used you as a test run, but it did show me that I am happier with PhotoShop for most of my work.  I am sorry I didn't put it all on gray background, but I did want to post just to show a bit of a real size mock up.

Have you decided for sure on which stone?

Not certain just yet...especially with R3467 showing up.  She is still ultimately deciding between color and size.  I've asked David to send me a couple more photos to help clear up the matter in an email, so hopefully in the next few days he'll be able to help us out even more.  You just never know what will show up in the new jewelry section from day to day!

I have to admit when I first saw that stone, I immediately thought of you.  It would be very tough for me to decide between the two let alone adding in a few of the others that have popped up recently.

I'll make sure to get some comparison photos tomorrow.
BTW, such shots are often requested- and seem to be very helpful.

Add R3468 to the short list!

Then a complete game-changer with the very cool color of R3462.  While this one is probably not really in the running, really make us stop and think.

It's also probably a good thing that the new FVY (R3466 is a bit out of our price range!  Otherwise I'd be asking David for a side-by-side comparison shot of like 7 diamonds!

R3466 is just amazing to me.  It is so bright it almost looks unreal if you know what I mean.  Pity its out of your budget.  I love that pinky-purpley stone too.  What does your pretty blonde think of it?

I don't envy you all right now trying to decide with a bunch of really pretty stones out right now.  Does your pretty blonde have a preference so far?

I love that R3462. If finances would allow me I`d snatch her in a heartbeat. Such an unusual stone.

GIAGirl:  That's just not her style at all.  She is not a fan of 3-stone settings.

The winner is...R3467.

The decision finally came down to the choice between R3454 and R3467.  On the one hand you have a nice fancy yellow color and a great size meeting our "looks like a carat requirement"; on the other hand, you have just amazing color in a slightly smaller package.  I'll be calling David tonight to set it all up, so stay tuned for more details!

I am late to the party here... Congratulations, crh, on your engagement and on your WONDERFUL engagement diamond choice. I must admit, of all the stones mentioned here, you have chosen my very favorite. Best wishes to you and your fiancé, and I look forward to following your exciting ring-building adventure!  rahrah

I'm certainly looking forward to it.  I'll be sharing photos from every stage of the process as we get them.  Perhaps [if I can pull it off] even a reaction shot when she sees it for the first time as I propose.  I don't yet have the date for that set or the plan, still a work in progress.  Smiley  I am very excited and so glad that the process with Diamonds by Lauren has not just been painless, but actually fun!  After shopping in close to 20 shops both online and B&M, I have to say DBL has been a breath of fresh air.

CRH, I know this is crazy, but you and your girlfriend would not happen to live in Georgia would you?

I went to a doctor's office today and they said that one of the blondes that works there was looking at yellow diamonds with her future fiance.  She was not in today or I would have talked her ear off!  Just curious.  That would be so neat if I knew her.

GIAGirl:  It wasn't us--we're a couple of midwesterners.  Although, I would much rather be in Georgia on this dreary Monday!

I asked her parents this weekend for their blessing and they agreed.  Talk about a nervous conversation!  I'm really looking forward to the fabrication process starting and will hopefully have some photos to share in the near future.  By the end of the week, I'd imagine we might have a wax model to evaluate.  I mentioned to David that I'm in no great rush [as I still have to figure out my plan for asking her], but he was thinking we could see the ring on the short side of three weeks!
