Hi everyone  petals

I'm writting from London and would like to say that I'm a complete beginner when it comes to this whole diamond craziness  Wink but I love it already!

it has all started when my boyfriend proposed to me just last week! so as you can imagine, I've been feeling a little wired over the last couple of days and we've started our hunt for The Perfect Ring.

I'm not even sure how I've discovered my love for colour diamonds, I think it was the ring attached (.28 carats, mossy green, 18 carat gold, £1785.00 ouch...) when I've decided - that's it, white rocks are quite boring  Grin

but I guess it won't be easy...because we're both still students and prices in UK are not exactly attractive (neither is the assortment <sight>)

so I hope we'll find your opinions and advices helpfull!

Welcome Miss Nat and best wishes on your engagement.

We look forward to helping in any way we can --the most important thing is your complete satisfaction and love for the ring you choose. We hope to exceed your expectations and totally WOW you with colored diamonds.

As for the education part, I recommend you dive right in and ask as many questions that you can think of for our members and David. I know that you will be amazed at their base of knowledge and the sense of caring they demonstrate every day here at CDI.

Again, all the best to you and your fiance.
djm

PS: I think you will find that the colored diamonds we sell at DBL are much better priced than anything you'll find in the UK. We are happy you found us.

Hi Natsha
I`m from the UK too. Welcome aboard !
When the time`s right I suggest you email David with your budget and see what he can conjure up for you.
No job is either too big or too small for David.
I`ve mentioned before on here how there`s such a poor choice of natural coloured diamonds in the UK and how expensive they are over here.
Congrats on your engagement and happy hunting for THE perfect ring.

Hi Miss Natasha!!
Welcome.

Thank you for those words Lynne- I'm awestruck-no pun intended!

Natasha, we've got a lot of UK clients- I understand the difficulty finding the right stone for a reasonable price.

Natural Green diamonds, for example, are very costly- especially pure green, with no modifiers.
If a stone being offered as green does not have a GIA report, and it looks priced high, it's a big question mark.
If it's priced low, with no GIA, we can assume it's treated.
We actually had a few treated greens in to show a client recently. The stone in the photo below was exposed to radiation ( Irradiated) to get it's green color. We don't carry such stones in the store, but we can source them by request.

IN cases like yours, Natasha, we communicate ( diamondsbylauren at gmail is ours) and we find out the budget, then we'll suggest diamonds.IN terms of style, it's best if you can find something on our site that you love- and we'll make one for you.
We have also "interpreted" hundreds of designs.
Send us a photo, and we'll come up with a DBL version.

In fact, we just finished one of the wildest designs we'veever done.
I'll post the story soon.....

As djm suggested- we LOVE questions~!!! Ask away.

hi Miss Nat! Welcome!  we love talking about colored diamonds, so you've found the right place!  i like the picture of that ring you found, green and blue are my favorite diamond colors, unfortunately they're also some of the rarest, as David mentioned.  Undecided
D for an irradiated stone, i think that's super cute!

Welcome and congratulations on your engagement!

Finding the perfect ring together is so romantic and you'll have a lot of fun! I suppose the main thing is not to rush, find out all you can and get The One (to go with The One you're marrying).

I'm in the UK too - it can be a little bit daunting to buy from overseas and online, but I have bought from David a fair few times and it's always been a fantastic experience. I can get more beautiful pieces for a lower cost overall than I ever could buying locally.

If you want to chat to someone in the UK about the practicalities of designing and importing your dream ring, drop David an email and I'm sure he'll put us in touch.

Glad you've found us,

Jen

Hi Natasha, another Brit here!  Welcome to the forum, we're all very friendly and can offer up a wealth of advice and opinion.  I've bought twice from David and have not been disappointed by the service and willingness to answer each and every question I've put to him.  David will work with you to make sure you get exactly what you want, whether your budget is big or small.

Look forward to seeing you on the board!

Hi, Natasha!   Congratulations on your engagement! So glad you've joined us - and just in time, too!

David did my engagement ring last summer - a natural fancy greyish-BLOO baby that turned out divinely!  I never thought I'd have such a unique stone, let alone a custom ring of this calibre. I've done several small projects and repairs on existing pieces since then, and have nothing but raves for the quality of the stones, workmanship, and the service David and his team have provided.  Truly, there's no job too small or project too large for this crew.

Hope you'll let us follow along with your explorations and final answer here on the CDI board.  We LOVE other people's projects almost as much as our own!

IMO, this is a great bunch of folks.  Many have a great deal of knowledge that I've found invaluable as a resource when working through my own dreams to find the reality.  The only down side is that they are from all over the world - makes it impossible to get together for a backyard barbecue.  Grin

Oh, and I'm stateside.  Originally from Texas - in case the preferred form of get-together wasn't a good hint. petals

Hi, Natasha! hello

Congratulations on your engagement!

So glad you have found DBL, as I am certain that you will be extremely pleased with the service and jewelry David provides.  As you can see, he has many repeat customers, and that in itself is a huge statement and testimony.  (I have a ring and a pendant in the works as we speak.)

The information available on the forum is phenomenal and the assistance from the members is awesome.  This is truly a great group of folks.

Welcome aboard!

Hi Natasha,
I am very happy for you and it must be very exciting picking out THE engagement ring.
Now, Webmistress you are giving our secrets away, I always thought that the fact that we are all crazy should be kept from newbies, they eventually find out for themselves though  for sure.

  4   Congratulations     4      Natasha.
