Thank you everybody for your kind comments. I`m away visiting my grandchildren at the moment but I`m keeping in touch with David by email. I can`t wait to see how the ring turns out and I`m sure David will post a pic of it when it`s ready. Yes WM it`s the .62 ct Sam Spade special. Cherrie I poached the design Now all I have to do is to figure a way of confessing to my dear partner why I`ve blown some of my wedding funds on a ring ..... Aw well we`ve got 2 houses to sell and one of our own to buy ( in a recession !! ) and so a girl needs a bit of bling now and again He is very familiar with my weakness for all things sparkly ... We were going to run away and marry somewhere hot and exotic but common sense took over and we`ve decided to sell the houses first and get our new home together and then tie the knot. I can maybe see another splurge happening before then Lynne

Diamonds are like people, put them under a microscope and you`ll always see a flaw but hold them up to the Sun and each and every one is beautiful.

I havent bought anything for a while and I saw a Sam Spade special, a marquise diamond. David and his merry band of elves are going to recreate this style for me. It will be my first ever marquise and I`m very excited about it. Beautiful ring. Do you have a pic of square shape diamond with same design.
