OK, where was I before the video malfunction... Oh, yes, I know. I wanted to address Mrs. M's earlier statement regarding the two Asscher rings when she wrote this:
Quote
I like the centre of the ring in stock better, but there's something really appealing about the Daussi. I like the way the side stones seem to slope away from the centre, angled towards the shank and I like the claws on the centre stone very much. The ring in stock looks like a more substantial, expensive piece though.
I'm not sure what it means (if anything), however, I'd had the same thoughts when I compared the ring photos (great minds, Mrs. M).  Roll Eyes

Hi all!

Jen, I don't think it's too difficult to change the prongs to claw prongs on the DBL ring.  David, am I wrong?

Mikla

Changing prongs may be possible- but it's not really a simple matter.
I also love the claw type prongs- to really do that right it must be designed that way from the beginning....

Yes, I've heard that before (and hoped it wasn't true haha). Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't put me off the ring, not at all, but having seen one so similar with claws makes me think it's a cleaner look. If I was thinking of buying this ring, it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

(Of course I'm thinking about buying it. Almost obsessively. I need to wait a while for my next bling hit though.  Cry )

Trink, that's the amazing thing about grandchildren, I think. You can hand them back at that moment! Grin

Ummm, Mrs.M, regarding the handing back of grandchildren... sometimes, I WISH! However, usually, I have two-month-old Mini DH two days each week for about 8 hours each day, and there is no relief during that time. Of course two weeks ago, I had him for FIVE days, plus his almost-four-year-old sister for three (overnights included). And TODAY, I had the pleasure of keeping company with my son, his three sibling friends (all boys under the age of 11), plus Mini DH. And, naturally, everyone had to be different places at different times, like swim practice (two separate times), tennis lessons, and a final drop off for the three boys at their grandparents house. Riding in the car with ALL the boys (including the baby who insisted on being fed each time the vehicle came to a stop... even for a moment), was, well, an experience (I never knew what a "head-burn" was until this morning... I'm still not quite sure, but the givers in the back seat liked it, the receivers did not). Mini DH has been a relentless bottle-guzzling machine until this latest blow-out... he's actually, for the first time ALL DAY, finally asleep. May it last for more than 10 minutes...  N1Please2HL1
