Hi chrisje110
Thanks for posting, and welcome to cdi!
it's a very good question- and a common one.
Not that people ask for a marquise in the same size you did- but about the price of pink, and pink brown diamonds in general.
First we need to "qualify" the search by saying we'll only consider natural diamonds with GIA reports.
When shopping for a .75ct G/VS1 round diamond, there's charts and pretty much established prices.
When it comes to any diamond that shows a pink tint- there's simply no book.
In a dream situation, we find exactly what you mention.
Again, if it's a .75ct round, the supply is plentiful
Truly pink diamonds- even mixed with brown, are like chickens teeth ( rare)- so we have to take what we find.
Here's a stone that's probably exactly the color you're thinking of....

I'll let David handle the pricing questions  Wink, but I have to say that I LOVED that little marquise ring.  Good luck in your search!

Holy cow! That was a sweet pink marquise indeed! I wonder if it might be better to look for a brown which looks pink rather than a pink with brownish undertones. The price would vary greatly wouldn't it?

Chris, that marquise is such a beautiful stone. You have a good eye for this! I would love a ring like that one someday, it's so unusual.

David can correct me if I'm wrong here, but my guess is that it's almost impossible to price a stone like the one described in the abstract, no?

I suspect that the colour described is quite rare and that it's the luck of the draw as to what shapes you find them in. Then, there are so many different possibilities around colour grade from GIA- what modifiers etc and of course different clarity grades. Then you'd have to consider cut quality, and whether the stone is actually beautiful, right? I'd guess it would be really really hard to put a price on it until you actually had a stone in hand.

Or am I completely wrong? Huh?  Heck, it wouldn't be the first time! Grin

AN absolutely perfect description Jen!
I could not have said it better myself.
Sometimes we see a brown pink stone for $20k that looks quite like one for $5000!
