It means the area above the girdle rises at a rate that exceeds what you would normally see in a diamond.  If you look at this type of diamond in profile, you would see how steep the angle is as compared to other diamonds.  I love this type of diamond vs one with a particularly flat and low top (crown).  The ring in my avatar features an OMC with a high crown (crown angle greater than 40 degrees).
