HI All!
Thanks everyone for helping to provide some context.
Of course it was never my intent to insult anyone.
Knowing OMC as I do, I feel sure neither was it his.

Part of my experience is the combination of diamonds, and the internet.
There are so many bogus claims and inaccurate info posted as advertising.
Not to say the OP's question was either, but this again, is for context.
If Daniel's question was an honest inquiry, then he'll come back when the GIA report is available.

Another way it might easily be interpreted is an attempt to promote a site- again, no offense if this wan not the intent, but it's happened more times than I care to remember.

The incredible rarity of natural red diamonds would make an informed answer impossible anyway.

Daniel,

On your first post here - first post ever, no-one knows you - you describe and picture something that could conceivably be the rarest and most valuable diamond ever pictured on these pages excepting "stock" pictures of famous diamonds.

You keep adding word over word about how hurt you are because people don't believe you, but apart from dropping a few names - which is not proof; I could easily tell you that the same stone has been seen by Steven Hofer who declared it a hoax - you only act offended.

No one here intends to insult or deceive you - although you don't seem to reciprocate the courtesy - but please understand that you have brought no proof of your statements whatsoever, and when faced with something that is highly unlikely most people choose to believe what is most likely instead. I don't know if what you pictured is a piece of red glass; given all you have brought as proof (i.e. nothing) I remain of my idea that it is more likely to be a piece of glass than a red diamond, whether irradiated, coated or natural.

Now - will you please stop playing with my brain and put it back where it came from?

Ok, we seem to have got off on the wrong foot here, Daniel.
I'm sorry about that, whatever the reason.

May we know a little more about your stone? I'd love to see more pics of it. Do you know what your customer plans to do with it? I would want it in a ring if it was mine, so I could see it when I was wearing it. Actually, I'd love a pair of red diamond earrings, but I take it I'd have to wait most of my life to find a match, right?

Well someone got out of the wrong side of his bed, pass the tissues not  Grin  Evil

I don't know who this person thinks he is but like anyone on this forum will tell you that without a comprehensive report on this so called diamond no-one in there right mind will touch it with a barge poll.

OMC and David were only stating the obvious when it comes to something that could one be a piece of glass until it has been seen by GIA and they prove to the contrary.

This is the only sight that I have known that has prove the worth of a GIA report and proven so...

Hmmmm...

Sorry got of my high horse.  laugh

Daniel,

I'm sorry that you were offended by some of our remarks.  Sometimes we are a little direct on the Forum when we make a concise point, but I can honestly tell you that the remarks are never intended to offend.

I have an Engineering degree from one of the best Universities in the United States, have over 30 years experience in Engineering and Research, and hold 7 US patents. When it comes to buying expensive and rare diamonds, I would not rely only on the expertise of my accredited laboratory, but would insist on a GIA report.  As you are aware, GIA is highly recognized in the diamond industry, and I would not negotiate on an expensive and rare diamond without it.

Please continue to do your homework on this red diamond, and let us know how everything turns out. We all agree that on a diamond this rare, you will want to be very, very careful and keep in  mind "If something is too good to be true, then it probably is".

Best Regards,

Ain't you, Foxy, or any of us.
RBRD want us to accept him without credentials but won't accept what we have to say about that.  When we show our hands and he shows his, there isn't any equity, just feelings.

Fuzzy math stopped doin' it for me years ago.  He has his credentials, but expects us to take him before his word and never looks back.   Too Bad, so sad.  Shiba had it right.  It's a sales sight for the diamond, but I plan on checking back to see the GIA.  Even money, it' a treated stone.  Takers?

Please forgive me if I offend anyone, but why would you want a diamond that looks like a very small ruby?  I like my diamonds big and chubby!  And I wouldn't buy from anyone else but DBL.

SHERYL, I CONSIDER AS OFFENSES 2 PHRASES, ONE FROM THE OWNER OF THIS SITE, HE/SHE SAID: "Who knows if it's even a diamond?", THE ANOTHER ONE FROM OLDMANCOYOTE: "...it's a piece of red glass".

I HAVE NOT CAREFULY READ ALL YOUR COMMENTS BUT I THINK YOU HAVE NOT SAID ANY OFFENSIVE COMMENT.

ALL THE BEST!

YOU ARE IN RIGHT, A GIA REPORT IS THE ONLY ACCEPTED REPORT FOR ANY DIAMOND BUYER, I NEVER BUY AN EXPENSIVE DIAMOND WITHOUT THE CORRESPONDING GIA REPORT, BUT READ YOU THE PREVIOUS COMMENTS.
I AM NOT A DIAMOND COLLECTOR, BUT I OWN SOME COLORED DIAMONDS PROPERTY OF MY GRANDFATHER, I AM A DEMANTOID COLLECTOR AND I OWN ONE OF THE LARGEST (GEM QUALITY) RUSIAN DEMANTOID KNOWN, A VERY NICE PORTUGUESE CUT GEM, 7 CTW, AND ANOTHER 20 RUSIAN DEMANTOID GARNETS BETWEN 2 AND 6 CTW, I LOVE THE DEMANTOID GARNETS, I THINK DEMANTOID IS ONE OF THE BEST COLORED GEMS, WITH THE COLOR OF AN EMERALD AND THE DISPERSION OF A DIAMOND.
KIND REGARDS,

I apologize to all members of CDI that I have offended with my forceful demand to end this thread.  When I read the following comment by Daniel, I was extremely offended:

"OLD MAN COYOTE, AFTER YOU SEE ME, YOUR WIFE SEE ME TOO."

Some of you may not realize that "street talk" remark indicates unspeakable violence was being directed towards our friends, OMC and Mrs. OMC.  Needless to say, I lost it.

I am sorry.  I will try to do better in the future.

AFTER YOU SEE ME, YOUR WIFE SEE ME TOO.

And my children. We are all very scared. Please don't come back until you have cleaned the snot from your nose, and learned some English (not to mention table manners).

Otherwise, stay in the company of your piece of glass, and your troll relatives.

This is the last post on this thread, as far as I'm concerned.

Sparkly: not a moment too soon. Thank you.

Hahaha sorry you guys and please don`t hate me for this but this thread is hilarious. Just put it down to my being an eccentric Englishwoman with a warped sense of humour ok  Evil
It reminds me of one of those bad sketches from Candid Camera where someone dresses up as a wealthy Sheik and declares he has a very rare 3 humped camel but without the producers being fully aware that as humans we ALL like to prove ourselves right and others wrong, they know they wouldn`t have a show.
Scene 1 and here`s the first victim who argues there`s no such thing as a 3 humped camel, the Sheik shouts and stamps his feet and declares " Off with his head "
Along comes the peace maker who tries to talk down the Sheik and remove the person who`se being threatened to lose his head. The audience are howling by now because any minute they know someone`s gonna declare their Dad`s bigger than the other person`s Dad and fisticuffs are bound to start. ( Time for the popcorn ! )
Entrance the Vet ( camel expert ) who rubs his head, and calmly states there`s no such thing as a 3 humped camel but is wise enough to know he doesn`t have anything to prove and so walks away shaking his head and thinking where his next cup of coffee is coming from. The Sheik is about to burst a blood vessel at this stage and threatens to have half his staff put into leg irons and sent off for 50 years hard labour !
The best bit is right at the end when the unfortunate public realise they`ve been had and that several million people have seen them shout, retaliate and be humiliated and all to try and prove what half the World knew anyway .... there`s no such thing as a 3 humped camel. The shows in the can !
So Daniel you come right over and see me, bring your 3 humped camel ooops i mean red diamond and your garnet collection, sorry you can`t see my husband afterwards ( he`s unable to oblige due to being dead ) and we`ll find you another site for your next episode of " Smile you`re on Candid Camera ".
This lady aint been had ....... Grin

HI All!
I needed to do some housecleaning here on this thread.
Daniel- I am very sorry that you felt my comments and omc's were insulting.
As we all learned in school, two wrongs do not make a right.
Questioning whether a photo depicts an actual diamond in no way compares to insulting a whole country. Making it even more personal and issuing veiled threats against a person's family is even more despicable.
That is really NOT what we are about here.
For now, Daniel will not have the ability to post.

Given that the participants here ARE actually interested in the possibility of a red diamond, I will gladly re-open your membership Daniel, once you have a GIA report to show us allowing a meaningful discussion on the price of red diamonds.

I recall reading somewhere there's about 30 pure red natural colour diamonds in the whole world... (or at least, that GIA had graded that many)

By the way - this GIA article proves beyond any doubt that "ruby red" treated diamonds are a reality.
