My Blue Diamond Halo

Well, since I can't buy anything right now and I have a number of projects sitting in a safe place. So what better way to pass my time? Uh, dream about the next project! LOL!

I have my original wedding ring that I have been trying to decide what to do with. I thought about a DBTY type bracelet since there are only 5 diamonds but I wonder if the size of my diamonds are too big for that style? My ring is 0.75 ctw so that would make each of them 0.15ct each. I thought about making a pendant out of them or earrings too but I can't decide. It would be nice if it was something I could wear all the time since I don't change my jewelry very often.

Tell me ... what do you think I should do?

A DBTY necklace comes to mind . . . I would be afraid of breaking a DBTY bracelet.

I vote DBTY necklace. My DW has one that David made for her and she wears it all the time (that is, when our 17 year old daughter isn't sneaking it while she's in the shower). lol.

I love the idea of a DBTY necklace too - that would be so pretty...  Smiley

I vote for a DBTY necklace.

Send it to David; the factory does fantastic bezel work.  The medium weight chain DBL uses is solid and sturdy, but rather plain; I prefer chains that shine and sparkle, so David tells me to send the chain that I want to use.

This would be such a pretty necklace, Lyta!

Lyta you are not going to believe me but I have the same ring, mine is slightly bigger at 1ct total diamond weight, I was thinking about having a bracelet made, I have other things on my list of things to buy this year, will be contacting david in a couple to weeks to buy an Asscher pendent from him, I am so excited about owning a DBL diamond.

Thanks everyone!

We can get some extremely sparkley chains OMC.....although lately we've really been loving the Italian ones....

Lyta- I agree with those suggesting a necklace.
A DBTY bracelet might not be very practical for everyday wear.....

Hmmm.....I guess I never took a picture of it.  It was made to go with her earrings David made.  (hold on--I have a picture of that...)

Here it is. You can hardly see the bezel on the top but it is the same size as the bezels in the necklace. Very pretty IRL.

That's funny because when we first were looking (we eloped so we didn't have much time to get rings) there was one I saw that was 1ctw that I first fell in love with but didn't buy it right then. Of course it was sold by the time we actually decided what to do. Man that was a long time ago!

So there are different chains that can be used for a DBTY necklace? I am so clueless!

IN terms of chain: generally our clients let us pick the one that will go best with the particulars of the necklace.
Center stone size etc....

Lucky for me, DW picks the gold chains, and she has exquisite taste in chains......

Sandra is very good at this.

I also love the chain. You can see it in the you tube.

So, 5 stones is enough for a necklace? Oh boy. Add this to the list David. I already wear a necklace that my husband bought me years and years ago. That was when he was still allowed to buy me jewelry on his own.  Evil It was actually one of the few purchases that I really, really liked and still wear it everyday. It sort of looks like the photo I am attaching. Anyway, I bought a cheap moissanite bezel pendant but I am growing weary of the pendant. It would be nice to revert back to just the necklace but I kind of like the idea of having a pendant on it. I was thinking of getting a new pendant but since everyone seems to like the idea of a DBTY necklace rather than a bracelet...

Dare I replace my special necklace with a DBTY one?

Do I wear them both at the same time?

You can certainly wear them together, Lyta. I like the layered look with necklaces. Also, if you think you'll wear them together a lot, you could think about having the bezels made in yellow gold to pick up the theme of your existing necklace.

DJM, how did your little girl get to be 17 already?!

Again, more seriously - if you think 5 diamonds are not enough, you should be able to add more relatively cheaply.

I don't really want to add diamonds since these 5 are special and I don't want to lose track of which ones where the original 5 stones.

Ah, but that's easy - the 5 originals go next to each other into the centre and/or are set differently (e.g. in white, while the others are in yellow)
