I only see a few men's rings on the DBL site. Why is that? Wink

I just have an idea that I have been rolling around in my head for a few years. My husband needs a new wedding ring since it is really too small now and it will be a PITA to resize. It is a puzzle ring with 7 bands. I have the hardest time finding interesting and different men's rings so it just hasn't happened. That and I eat up all the jewelry budget in no time. LOL! It probably won't happen for a few more years with the purchase of this new house but a girl can dream right?

Maybe it would make a nice 15th anniversary present? Oh wait ... that would be next year!  freakout

Anyway, does anyone have any men's rings ideas for me to think about?

I have no ideas right off the top of my head.  What is his style?

I have a 4 band puzzle ring in sterling.  I've had it since I was in middle school I think (maybe early high school) and I still wear it now and then.  So I obviously love them!

My hubby finally decided that he wanted a diamond ring so we're getting him  a .38 I VS2 "ideal" cut round that we already have.  I plan on having it all ready for him by the holidays!

It's the last thing I ever thought he would like, he's always been Mr. No Bling, the wedding band he wears on a daily basis is a $35 tungsten ring from eBay...

That's stunning, Sanchica, but I'd never trust a tension setting.   I've seen just too many bad things happen to rings.

Thanks for that link DJM! I finally read the whole thing and I liked this ring the best:

Not sure it is my husband's taste but I can see what he thinks. I am pretty sure he likes yellow gold but what I don't know is if he likes diamonds in his ring. Last I checked he didn't but you know things could change. Do you know how big that baguette is or how wide that ring is?

I have contemplated getting him a new bigger size puzzle ring but I thought it would be nice to try something different.  It might not go over since he is pretty stubborn. LOL!

My idea is to try to incorporate my old wedding ring diamonds which are 5 round brilliant 15 pt stones. I have been trying to think of a way to reuse those diamonds but since they hold a special sentimental value it has been really hard. Maybe use 3 in his ring and make the other two into earrings for me somehow? Or 1 for him and 4 for me? He might be more prone to accept diamonds in his ring if they were from my old wedding ring....

I have no idea of his style!! LOL! He isn't into jewelry or even very keen on wearing a ring at all but he liked the idea of the puzzle ring when we first got married. I have a sterling/14k yellow gold one and so it has some meaning for us. Plus, he likes puzzles or anything challenging or different. Of course, my puzzle ring no longer fits me. Sad

I'm not to worried, I know some people who have owned several of these rings and have put much more expensive diamonds in them with no problems.  This happens to be the particular ring designers specialty, he's known for them, only of the only trusted tension ring designers in the industry.

Lyta,

This is the same ring that I'm trying to have made up for myself with a yellow baguette in yellow gold. (I might have to abort the idea since a yellow baguette in the right dimensions seems impossible to source). As for the size of the diamond, it's been so long I forgot where I got this picture.  Let me do some research and I will get back to you.

I do like tha baguette look a lot as well.  I have seen ones with three diamonds down like that as well and like it too.

Sanchica I like tension sets as well, but I always worry since I bang the heck out of my rings.  I know many who love them though.  I'd probably do the "fake tension" if I ever got one like it though.

I have often thought of getting my DH a new ring sinc at times his is too large.  He hasn't given me any idea of what he likes though.  He prefers yellow on his skin (I think both look fine though) and that takes out a lot of the cool metals that I like for guys.

Baguette? Why not a small emerald cut? Or a fantastic Asscher cut?

The baguette, generally, have little shine.

Obviously we need to increase our men's ring selection!
We have made many- in fact there's a really cool one coming out later this week.
We're making a ring similar to this one with a 2.09ct round in the center.

DJM_ there are indeed baguettes with really nice brilliance and sparkle.
I've not forgotten you and we're still working on finding one with YOUR name on it!

I like that ring David!  I would even wear a smaller version like that myself.

Raffaele, that's a style I love for men's rings as well.  That's also what I meant by "fake tension"  From the top it looks like one and it doesn't cover much of the stone, yet it has that extra support at the bottom.  If you'd see how I've banged up some of my rings, you would know why I wouldn't trust a real tension setting for myself (and only myself)

I did a bit of a double take when I saw that photo! Your wedding band is virtually identical to mine. Only difference is that my D colour VS1 princess cut is 0.08ct, so it's a much smaller ring.

I like that ring a lot too Raffaele!! Might be a design to consider....

My husband doesn't have huge hands so most men's rings are quite over powering on him.

Remember the unusal ring I posted a few days back?
Well we've got some photos of the DBL version- WOW,it's amazing.

We have asked our client if they like the blue enamel- or if we should change to black.
What do you guys think?

I vote for blue!  Black and white is a little too drab for my taste, and blue is one of my favorite colors.

honestly when you posted that i thought "blech" but the DBL reimagining is AWESOME.  i don't know how you stayed so true to the original while making it 100x better.  you people are magic workers.
