I don't think it's too small by a long shot, but my MIL wants to maximize the size, so that's what she's considering.

It's very classy and it does maximise size. I love this option!

so you guys think a white halo will emphasize and enhance the size of a center even when it's such a different color?  so do you guys think bezel setting or prongs?

I do like a nice sleek bezel, but with that design, I think the prongs are very pretty.

I would embrace the contrast and go with high whites, personally.

SV, I have this ring with a 1.53ct YZ cushion center. If it is a style in which you are interested, I'm happy to answer any questions you have.

saori- i love that ring too. the diana though really would add size and contrast IMHO

trinkette- my pear shape is being made in that style. there is just something so feminine about it. can't wait for the BBT

The halo DEFINITELY makes the center look bigger!  In the picture I am posting, the top ring has an .80 ct center, the middle ring has a 2+ ct center, and the bottom ring has a 1.5+ ct center.  Crazy, huh!

Yes, GL, that is a great shot. Hard to believe that the one in the middle weighs the most, and the round is just 0.80ct.

... be careful of colour, shapes, proportions and aspect ratios too, though. But in general a halo will extend the centre stone.

Great shot Trinkette!  It really gives a good perspective.  I think each ring gives a different feeling.  And like OMC said, those things are important to consider too.
